Kraston Lyle Colby Kraston Lyle Colby, aged 34, died on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He had been living with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, for 11 months when he succumbed unexpectedly to an infection.
Kraston was born December 12, 1982, in Fairview, OK, the son of Butch and Kathy Edingfield, and the late Bradley Colby.
Kraston married Amanda Kay Doutey in Tulsa, OK, January 26, 2008. He received an Associates degree in Culinary Arts from OSUIT in Okmulgee and a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from OSU in Stillwater. He worked as a chef for 10 years before purchasing and operating a garage door installation and repair business. He had always wanted to own his own business.
Kraston was received into the Roman Catholic Church at the Church of Saint Mary in Tulsa November 16, 2014. He was actively involved in the ACTS Retreat Team, the Culinary Angels Ministry, the Home Improvement Ministry and the Knights of Columbus. His energy and enthusiasm for helping people knew no bounds.
Kraston is survived by his wife, Amanda (Doutey) Colby; children, Benedict, Rosemary, Gabriel and Eleanor; parents, Butch and Kathy Edingfield of Fairview; siblings, Karnesa McGaha and husband Kurt of Davis, Katy Edingfield of Fairview, David Edingfield and wife Angela of Edmond, Subrina Strauss and husband Chris of Virginia Beach, VA; grandparents, Bonnie Williams and husband K.V. of Enid, Charles Stevens and wife Jacquita of Watonga; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bradley Colby; uncles Douglas Colby and Terry Stevens; and grandparents, Karen Billington, Vinton Colby, and Jack and Anna Edingfield.
The family will receive guests for visitation Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 5pm until 7pm at the Church of Saint Mary at 1347 E. 49th Pl., Tulsa, OK 74105. A rosary service will be immediately following at 7pm. The funeral mass will start at 10am Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Church of Saint Mary, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements provided by Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Catherine School. He loved the joy for learning and love for God that his children are developing there. Checks may be mailed to the school at 2515 W. 46th St., Tulsa, OK 74107.
